The broodmares at Kamilaroi Stud carry some of the classic imported Riding Pony bloodlines. The first line of mares came from Bereen Stud at Barraba who were sired by Menindee Commissaries (X Rotherwood Commander (imp.) with the dam line being Australian Pony Stud Book and tracing their bloodlines back to the great old sire Llowlynn Silver Chief. Some of these mares were joined to Kirreway stud sires, Carolina’s Cats Whiskers (imp.) and Rotherwood Acrobat (imp.) and then to Syon Splendor (imp).

The stud then purchased from Sandra Donovan.the young mare, Mats Magic of Astral (Strinesdale Matador U.K. X Silkwood Spring Thyme) and her colt foal by Royal Ensign (imp.).The resulting progeny have been joined to the resident sire Kirreway Windsong as well as Rosslayne Blue Peter (imp.); Courtland Boy Blue (imp.); Syon Royal Portrait (imp.); Willowcroft Explorer and Ninfield Minks Supreme (imp.). Some of the mares retained in the stud as well as female progeny of Windsong are now being joined to the young sire Mandaley Bell Boy and Mats Magic has been joined AI on two occasions to Rotherwood Peter Pan U.K.
